Cancellation Policy

      • Please do not register more than 2 weeks in advance in an effort to reduce cancellations.
      • Cancel a registered climb up to 24hrs prior.
      • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before OR a no show will result in a non-refundable climb.
      • If you do not use all of your climbs by August 31st, you will forfeit your remaining climbs.

To register for a community climb night:

  1. Pick a Thursday on the calendar below to register. Click book now. Only 1 person, and 1 night can be registered at a time.
  2. At checkout, enter the code you received via email and the same email address used at the time of purchase.
  3.  You will receive an email 3 days prior to the registered date with the climbing location and other details.

 

12 guests maximum per night

All equipment is provided, but you are encouraged to bring your own if applicable.

Details

Join us every Thursday this spring & summer in Golden, Colorado for community climb nights! We will be sampling some of Golden’s rock climbing and top-roping a wide variety of styles and grades.

 

We strive to create a non-judgmental space where everyone can be themselves and thus try hard and have fun! From first-timers to the advanced, this is a great way to connect with other local climbers.

 

All sessions will be held in Golden, Colorado on Thursday nights from 5:30-7:30PM.

 

Various locations will include Clear Creek Canyon, North Table Mountain, and Lookout Mountain.

 

Your guides will be Dan Hunter (AMGA Rock Guide) and/or Bentley Newton (AMGA Single Pitch Instructor).

Bottom

Cotton or synthetic climbing pants/capri’s
Shorts for hot weather

Top

Fleece or lightweight down sweater
Lightweight wind shell
Water proof rain jacket – lightweight gore-tex or similar
Short-sleeved shirt
(Optional) Sun hoody

Head

Baseball hat – for sun protection

Hands

1 pair of lightweight leather belay gloves – hardware store versions are great

Feet

Sticky rubber approach shoes or light hiking/trail running shoes (closed toe mandatory)
Cotton or Synthetic socks

Technical Equipment 

Harness – UIAA/CE rated climbing harness with belay loop and gear loops.  Should be able to fit on the outside of your layers.
Helmet – UIAA/CE rated climbing helmet.
Belay/rappel device – plaquette, tube style device preferred
2 locking carabiners – large, round stock screw gate carabiners that are easily manipulated while wearing gloves
Sticky rubber rock climbing shoes

*All technical equipment will be provided by SAI, but if you have our own, it’s encouraged that you bring it.

Food

2L of water
800 -1200 calories of food – energy bars, sandwiches, fruits, etc

Personal

Backpack – 25-30L
2 Large mouth water bottles, 1L capacity each.
Lip balm
